LUSH HAUL #3

Bonjour mes petites!

Last week Sunday, my mother wanted to go shopping to Cribbs Causeway (a shopping mall on the outskirts of Bristol), and as I noticed the previous night that I was running out of my current favourite shower cream, I popped into the Lush there. As you can see, I bought more than just that. I have no shame whatsoever.

So here is what I bought [clockwise from top left]:

Ladybird Bubble Bar - £3.95 *part of the Mother's Day range*
Isn't this the cutest? How do the lovely Lush people come up with so many amazing ideas for their products? This contains geranium oil which aids relaxation and peppermint oil to revive you with kick of menthol.

The Comforter - 250g - £9.75
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to bathe in hot bath of Ribena? Well, this would be the next best thing. If you don't like the scent of blackcurrants, I would advise against buying this.

Ultraviolet Bubble Bar - £4.95 *part of the Easter range*
This has violet and jasmine in it, so I imagine that it will smell very much like an old favourite of mine which is the Flying Fox shower gel (which has now been discontinued in the shops but you can get it online fresh from the Lush Kitchen).

Sakura Bath Bomb - £3.50
I'm not sure if this a new one or not, but I don't think I've ever seen it before. What attracted me to it was that it is a mix of floral and citrus scents - the best of both worlds!

Flowering Tea Bubble Bar - £4.95 *part of the Mother's Day range*
This contains actual flower petals inside!! How could anyone say no to that?

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar - £4.25 *part of the Easter range*
Extremely popular every Easter, it has already sold out online. I'm so glad that I snapped one up when I did because if I had waited until the next time that I'm in the Bath store, I doubt they'd have any left.

Okay, yes. I went a bit cray-cray on the bubble bars, but you know what? They last blimmin' yonks! The last time that I did had a spree in Lush was at the beginning of January - clickie here to read it if you please - and I bought the Brightside Bubble Bar. I only finished it last week! That's like....at least 5 uses. So I really do think that they are well worth the £££.

See all you lovelies soon!

xx

p.s. Oh..I almost forgot - HAPPY LEAP YEAR EVERYONE!!

A Wander Through My Week | 8 of 52

BONJOOOOOOUUUUR!
This post is coming to you from a very special location. Currently I am sat on the sofa, coffee in one hand, bestie pal sat next to me (starting her very own blog *makes a noise that only dogs can hear*) and The Godson sat on the floor, playing with his lego. Oh, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is on the TV. Could life get anymore better than this? I don't think so! Although, typing with one hand because you need to hold your warm coffee mug in the other is difficult.

I hope that you've all had a good week. I am SO glad that I'm not at work because with my injury, I would've probably cried, for at least two days anyhow. I'm alright now though, still sore but less stiff.

19th February 2016

So...I may have become slightly obsessed with the Pixi Skincare recently. Whilst it's not cheap, using these each night (along with the Glow Tonic) has made my skin much clearer and softer.

20th February 2016

I know, I know! Rubbish photo quality but, hey! This concert was filmed way way back in 1997, so the quality isn't excellent. Anyhow, this has fuelled my sudden need to have all things Bee Gees in my life. I loves them so much.

21st February 2016

This is what happens when Sainsburys starts selling American snack food! I've been wanting to try Twinkies for blimmin' ages but all they had in stock was the banana flavoured ones and I wasn't going to eat those as I hate things flavoured with artificial bananas.

22nd February 2016

I've finally found a use for my Christmas present from Shelle! woopwoop! It's the perfect size for part-used Lush bubble bars.

23rd February 2016

Yeah...so...this happened today. I'm sorry if my swollen knee disgusts anyone but this is what happens when you are clumsy AF.

24th February 2016

....and here it is the next day, sporting a lovely purple bruise.

25th February 2016

Someone (The Godson) turns three years old on Saturday and here is one of the presents that I bought him. When you press down the red button, it goes "nee-norr nee-norr!" and then it sings 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'. Educational and fun!

Toodle-pip!

9 Things All Clumsy People Know To Be True

How-do Chums?

I am sat writing this to you the day after I fell over in the most spectacular fashion on my way into town. It has left me with swollen knees and a bruised ego. I'm still not sure what I tripped up on or how it happened, all I know is that I was walking along at my usual super fast, long-legged speed and the next thing, I found myself hurtling towards the ground and going down with a wallop - there is a lot of me to fall! At least I can be grateful that
  a) it wasn't piddling down with rain at the time. I was sat on the ground for at least five minutes, not crying because i'm a big girl, gathering strength to walk (or more accurately, limp) on to my hair appointment, and
  b) no bones were broken or knees dislocated - yay!

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised this has happened to me though. I am one of life's uncoordinated people. We are the type that clumsiness is second nature to us.

Here are some things that all clumsy people know to be true:

1. A week doesn't go by without at least one bruise or cut on your body.
2. You carry around a variety of painkillers and band-aids for this reason.
3. Never give a clumsy person something fragile to carry because you can guarantee they will drop it. Personally, I am always in awe of waiters in restaurants when they carry six plates full of food on their arms. hOW DO THEY NOT DROP THE LOT??
4. We just have to walk past a glass/mug sat on a table and it will knock over.
5. Where can I learn the life-hack for walking on ice?? I need to know! I love snow but I do not love the ice that comes with it.
6. Ditto rain. Bath is terrible with slippery pavements.
7. I've lost count of how many times that I've almost forgotten how stairs work.
8. You can count the scars on your body and you have a story to go along with each of them.
9. If you are taller than average height, low ceilings and doorways are not your friends. Coordinated people must magically know when to duck.

Stay safe everyone!

A Wander Through My Week | 7 of 52

yo yo YO! It's that time of the week again where you see what I've been up to this week. Which, as per usual, isn't that interesting to anyone but me. But, whatevz.

12th February 2016

This day was the day I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time in months. Such pain us ladies go through in the name of vanity! Anyhoo, because of this momentous occasion, I decided to treat myself to a new eyebrow product. After using it a week, I am still undecided weather or not I will repurchase it. Hold your horses for a proper review of this...errr....soon.

13th February 2016

EASTER IS COMING! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! These are simply solid milk chocolate eggs from M&S. Perfect for when you have a choccie craving. And they come wrapped in shiny coloured foil. Who doesn't love shiny things?

14th February 2016

I won this bottle of Bucks Fizz at work and I really enjoyed drinking it after a day spent at work and to celebrate surviving another V-Day being a single pringle.

15th February 2016

Nerdy Belle and Ronald. Two new friends and the start of my new obsession with all things 'Funko Pop!' Read my little review here. I'm certainly looking forward to growing my collection more.

16th February 2016

That orange blob is what remains of the Brightside Bubble Bar from Lush (like...from where else? c'mon, this is me we're talking about here!) Sometimes all you need to relax is the bubbliest of bubble baths, with a nourishing face mask and a good book.

17th February 2016

Fish and chips from my favourite chippy in Bath for dinner tonight. It was scrumptious

18th February 2016

I took this photo from a window at work early (well...just before 8am. but I guess that is early) in the morning on Thursday. Some of the buildings may not be too aesthetically pleasing but when the morning sun shines upon them, they take on a whole new look.

That's it for week 7! Weeks 8 and 9 could be interesting because I am not at work for either of them! *insert dancing lady emoji here* Mentally, I've got lots planned for this little space on the interwebs. If anything, I really want to spend some time sprucing it up and what-not.

See you again soon!

Nails #1

Base-Coat | Nails Inc 'Hyde Park'
Colour | Tanya Burr 'Little Duck'
Top-Coat | Nails Inc 'Albert Bridge'

Eurgh. Painting one's nails is Such. A. Faff. I mean, I love the end result but I find the process of actually doing the nails so tedious AND I usually smudge them between coats *sighs*.

However, I really didn't know what to write about for today so I thought I'd do this because I like seeing other peoples immaculate nails and nail-art (obviously, I am faaaaaar from their standards).

Two days on, and apart from the odd chip where I've caught a couple of fingernails on equipment at work, they have lasted surprisingly well!

Out of all the base/top coats I've tried (and I've tried a fair few), I do believe that Nail's Inc make the best.

See all your lovely faces again on Saturday!

Funko Pop! | New Obsession

Funko is a pop-culture company from America and their Pop! Vinyl range has sold over 55 million worldwide.

I stumbled across these cute figures when I was searching for the Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit on Amazon and they popped up under "other customers have bought..." and I legit spent a good half hour browsing through the collection and squeeing.

Prices for them can vary depending on who you buy them from or how rare they are, for example, I paid just under £20 for Nerd Belle because I believe that it's a limited edition, yet I paid £12.99 for Ronald. You can probably get better deals if you shop around on the interwebs.

Funko have pretty much covered most fandoms with these vinyl toys. There is Marvel, Games and movies in general. Just look on their website at the entire collection to give you some ideas.

Now I've bought these two, I definitely want more. Here are a few on my wishlist:

and in March (April for the UK I think) there are more Harry Potter ones being released! Luna Lovegood! Dementor! Dobby! *quivers with excitement*

Have you got Funko Pop! collection?

See you soon

A Wander Through My Week | 6 of 52

I wouldn't be surprised that in 50 years time, us Brits will have developed gills and be living underwater (and your great-great-great granddaughter is pretty fine..)! I'm sick of this perpetual rain now! Bring me a proper Winter full of snow and frosty mornings plz.

5th February 2016

Ferrero Rocher waffle from 'Coco's' in Kingswood, Bristol. It. Was. Heavenly.

6th February 2016

Minnie Mouse Vans. Wet feet. Rudolph socks. Too short jeans. Insane scarf. I barely felt warm or dry all day, especially as we had to walk through a mini-monsoon to get home.

7th February 2016

Another wet walk today but thankfully, we didn't have to walk in any rain. Just the puddles and the baby-lakes. And the squelchy, slimy mud. These shoes are still slightly muddy around the sides.

8th February 2016

I spy waffles again! I have no shame. This was in TGI Friday's with the Parents and the Chicken Finger BLT now comes with the option to have it with a waffle instead of a ciabatta. I definitely hit my waffle limit with this.

9th February 2016

Breakfast food is the best food, no matter what time of day you eat it. This was for my dinner.

10th February 2016

Started a re-read of my favourite series of books. Well, all of the 50 ones that I've actually got. Still need 8 more to complete the set. It was these books (along with 'The Sound of Music') that started my love affair with Austria and Switzerland. Not that I've ever been to either country but, you know, one day...

11th February 2016

Cloudy reflections in a pond at Willsbridge Mill, Bristol.
It's a lovely woodland area with a river running through it. Amazing to think that such a place can be found on the outskirts of a bustling and lively city!

Let's hope that next week will be drier!

9 Problems Every Bookworm Can Relate To

Helloooo there everyone!

I am a certified bookworm and I have been since....like....forever. There is nothing I like more than curling up with a good book and wiling away the hours with my paper and ink friends. Sadly though, being a bookworm comes with a fair set of problems, here are a few that I face constantly:

1. Walking into a book shop, inhaling that papery aroma and practically having an orgasm in the middle of the 'best-sellers' aisle.

2. Finishing a entire series and then not knowing what to do with your life anymore.

3. Dropping the book into your bath. It never looks the same again.

4. Getting into a series which is out-of-print and then finding out you need to take out a loan to buy copies, especially if they are in hardback.

5. Starting a new series and having to wait a year (or more - Harry Potter, I'm looking at you) for the next instalment.

6. Watching a TV/film adaptation of your favourite book and getting irrationally angry over it when the writers cut out vital plot points and your favourite characters.

7. Visiting a charity shop and having heart palpitations at the sight of all the cheap, secondhand books.

8. Running out of space to store your books. Perish the thought that you should ever get rid of any!

9. Knowing that you have to be up super early the next morning, but you can't seem to put the book down. "Just one more chapter.....oh go on....maybe another..."

See y'all Saturday!

Blogging: One Year On & Four Things It Has Taught Me

BONJOUR MES PETITES!! IT WAS MY 1ST BLOGGING BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY!!

I really can't believe that a year ago yesterday, I clicked 'Publish' on my very first blog post and I've persevered with it for so long.

I know that I am a very small fishie in a very large pond full of other blogger fishies that write better content (or just write better generally) than me but, you know what? I don't actually give a flying....sheep. I am who I am and if you don't like what I have to say, then you can just click the little 'x' on your browser. So there.

Blogging has taught me so much in the past year. I look back at my early days and it's a constant cringe-attack. "What was I thinking when I wrote that?" and "err...you call that a photo?"

I guess we all are beginners in the...errr...beginning and I'd like to think that I've improved somewhat.

Here are the four things that blogging has taught me:

1. How to touch-type. Sort of. I mean, I ain't ever going to be perfect at it. My style is bashing the keyboard and hoping that I'm hitting the right keys. Like this:

Saying that though, I am a lot faster than I used to be!

2. Blogging is a number's game. There will always be someone who has more followers/views than you and it is far too easy to get caught up in thinking that you aren't as good as them if you only have a handful of either. Whenever I start to get disheartened about this, I recite to myself:

"Jesus only had a few followers but Hitler had millions"

3. How to take a good photo. Lighting is vital and if you can't get the effect you want, use a photo editor to adjust exposure etc to get it to how you like it. The angle is rather important too.

4. Don't get stressed if you end up with writer's block/lack of motivation to write anything. It's your blog and you can post as often or as little as you like - there is no set rule! People, especially if they are fellow bloggers, will understand that sometimes life gets in the way.

Here's to another year of blogging! Who knows what the next year will bring.

A Wander Through My Week | 5 of 52

29th January 2016

H e a v e n l y.
I am currently 50% Hot chocolate and 50% squirty cream. I'm going to be sad when the Summer arrives as no-one wants on a hot drink on a sweltering sunshiney day.

30th January 2016

Gave myself enough time before work this morning to catch up with 'Pretty Little Liars'. I must the one of the few mad people out there who has watched it at 5am.

31st January 2016

What a horrible looking day. I was at work for most of it though but I arrived home to this sky. My Dad asked me "why are taking a photo?". I could hardly tell him about my 366 photos challenge or that I like taking photos of trees, could I? That would've taken a lot of explaining...

1st February 2016

New suitcase from Cath Kidston! I love it so much! I needed a small suitcase on wheels to take to Keelin's this weekend as I have a far bit to take with me and I did not want to carry a heavy bag up the stairs at work at 6.20am.

2nd February 2016

HOW FLIPPIN' CUTE ARE THESE?? The lighting is crap in this photo but the t-shirt is a light mint greeny colour but it's really all about the dinosaurs. Cartoon creatures are the best. I bought them for Keelin's youngest so he could match his brother (The Godson) when he wears his dinosaur sweatshirt.

3rd February 2016

Ran out of my favourite shampoo and needed to re-buy today. I swear by this stuff. I also love the argan oil to tame my mane as I do have the tendency to look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. Not a good look.

4th February 2016

Eurgh. Blurry photo. Heigh-ho. Night "hike" with the little Guideys and the best bit was the view of Bath from the park we walked through. The worst bit? Walking uphill and then having to go down some super steep steps. My thighs are actually killing me right now. I will suffer in the morning.

That's it for this week! See you on Tuesday for a very special post. *winks*

February Blogging Goals

Is it just me, but doesn't the month February look like such a weird word to spell? I mean, I can never remember how to and I always have to double-check and even then I'm not sure it's correct...

A n y w a y s........

HI! This month is my blogging birthday and so I thought I'd set myself a few goals for it:

1. Network Network Network! Yeah....I'm really bad at this. I am not one to toot my own horn (oo-er) and I am terrible at joining into Twitter chats. I always seem to forget to look for them and then get distracted by something else. At the end of the month, I've got a whole 16 days off work, so my plan is involve myself in them more. If anyone knows of any good ones to join in, please tell me!

2. Take more flat-lays. Lately I've been kind of obsessed by them, so I need to perfect my technique.

3. Schedule posts in advance! Hahahahaha we all know my track record in this *coughs*blogmas*coughs* but so far so good. I'm going away to Keelin's this weekend so I won't have time to write anything for four days due to Harry Potter marathon, prosecco drinking and small boy funtimes, so I need to get on top of the writing!

4. Blog at least twice per week. As I'm already doing 'A Wander Through My Week' on a Saturday, I'd like to try and post on a Tuesday too, which leaves a space on a Thursday to post an extra one if I get the inspiration.

See you all again on Saturday!

Favourite App of January | Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector

Cat lovers of the world rejoice! There is an app in town which will fuel your feline addiction! If you are like me who would like to get a real life cat but can't at the moment, then you will L O V E this game.

Released in Japan on 20th October 2014, it has been downloaded more than 10 million times [Dec '15] and an English version of it was available on 20th October 2015.

The aim of the game is to basically collect cats. That is it. All you have to do is put down a bowl of food and some items into your "yard" and the cat's will come visiting. Everything is free but to buy items and food, you need silver or gold sardines, which are the games currency. It's not difficult to accumulate these though. When a cat leaves, it leaves you a gift of sardines.

At the time of writing, there are 49 cats to collect, 17 of which are classed as "rare". These kitties only appear when certain items are placed into the yard [I have yet to encounter one of these].

I like to think of this game as a sort of Tamagotchi-esque....but minus the inevitable death because if you don't put any food down, it just means no cats will be lured in.

How could you not love this game? Just loOK HOW CUTE THE KITTIES ARE!!

There is also an opportunity to expand your space into the adjacent room for 180 gold sardines, which will obviously attract ALL THE CATS.

Neko Atsume is available for free on both iPhones and Android.

Happy gaming everyone!

See you soon,
xx
